P.A.C. Ramasamy Raja Polytechnic College owes its existence to the vision and generosity of the late visionary from Rajapalayam, Shri P.A.C. Ramasamy Raja, a prominent industrialist and philanthropist in the region. In 1950, he established the P.A.C. Ramasamy Raja Education Charity Trust with the explicit purpose of creating educational institutions.

This Polytechnic College, established during the 1963-64 academic year as part of the 3rd Five Year Plan, has witnessed remarkable growth over the past 45 years.
Affiliated with the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu, Chennai, the overall management of the institution is entrusted to the Governing Council. Under the capable leadership of Shri P.R. Ramasubrahmaneya Rajha, Chairman of the RAMCO Group of Industries, the institution continues to uphold its commitment to quality technical education and philanthropy.
