K.A.P. Viswanatham Government Medical College , Trichy was established in the year 1998. The College offers 5 year MBBS Course having an intake of 150 seats. The college is under the affiliation of the TN Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai, State of Tamil Nadu, India, and is wholly administered by the Government of State of Tamil Nadu. The Institute is recognized by the Medical Council of India, New Delhi, India.
The Classrooms are ventilated and spacious which has modern teaching techniques are used for effective learning. Clinical training and practical provided in various hospitals. The College has various laboratories including Pharmaceutical Chemistry Lab, Pharmacognosy Lab, Pharmaceutics Lab, Pharmaceutical Analysis Lab, Human Anatomy & Physiology Lab, Microbiology Lab, Pharmacology Lab . The Computer Lab has 40 computers that are fully equipped with modern software. The College has well equipped library with large number of Indian & Foreign editions new books, magazines, journals and reference books. The College has separate hostel facilities are provided for both boys and girls. The students get adequate basic amenities as per their needs which includes power supply, hot and cold water, nutritious food, game facilities, newspaper, prayer room etc are available for the students.
