Government Polytechnic College-Vandiperiyar

Government Polytechnic College, Vandiperiyar.P.O, Idukki, is the second professional (Diploma level) college in Idukki district, established by the Government of Kerala in 1998. This initiative has significantly contributed to the growth of the higher education sector in the region. The campus, spreading over 10 scenic acres, stands as a beacon for the district's development. The institute is conveniently located, accessible through a three-and-a-half-hour road journey from Kottayam, offering proximity to the cool and picturesque surroundings of Periyar Tiger Reserve sanctuary.

The college provides diploma courses in three disciplines: Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Computer Application & Business Management. The infrastructure includes an administrative block, academic block, and additional buildings for classrooms, computer labs, electronics labs, and more. There's also a ladies hostel constructed under the MHRD project assistance. Government funds have been sanctioned for the construction of additional buildings and hostels for the college. The institution is dedicated to improving its laboratories, workshops, and existing structures to fulfill its mission of molding proficient technocrats and contributing to the upliftment of the rural and backward communities in Idukki district.
