Dr.M.V. Shetty College of Physiotherapy was established in the year1990 and was the first college to offer the Bachelor of Physiotherapy course in Karnataka affiliated to Mangalore University.

The college is located at Vidhyanagar in Mangalore. Now the college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Bangalore and it is recognized by the Indian Association of Physiotherapists. The college managed by Dr.M.V.Shetty Memorial trust has a physical education department managed by the director of physical education.
The college has four good spacious libraries equipped with about 14000 volumes of books related to National and International journals and E-Journal, back volumes of the journals and thesis are available in the Library. The ATM facility of the Corporation Bank is in the premises of the building of Dr. M.V.Shetty Trust Colleges is helpfu for the students for fee payments.This facility can be available for the students and staff of the college. Dr.M.V.Shetty Memorial Trust college Campus has a spacious Canteen facility for the benefit of staff and students of the colleges and it is supervised by an experienced staff.
Separate hostels are provided for boys and girls. Hostel is compulsory for girls till the completion of their course. Hostel is compulsory for boys in the first year. totally there are five hostels maintained by the Trust. In hostel, inmates get breakfast, lunch, evening tea and dinner. The Trust ensure to serve the students with hygienic food and to keep the kitchen and the dining halls clean and tidy. The aim of the College regarding the hostel is to make the student feel a home away from home.
