It is the state's oldest technical institution which is affiliated to the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University and approved by All India Council for Technical Education The college has 4 year Engineering course with various specializations such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Applied Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, Computer Science & engineering.

The boys hostel is situated behind the college within the campus and the girls hostel is located front side of the college. Both hostels are under the control of the wardens and the college ensures safety and security among the students.
